Between-session follow-up for psychologists and therapistsYour work doesn’t end when the session does.

Kalmo connects your sessions with your patients’ week. Prepare with a summary of what happened since you last met, analyse the session with AI, leave action items that stay with the patient, and see — with data — whether what you do is working. Built with EMDR therapists in mind; useful for any approach.

  • Free read-only access, forever
  • Any approach — with an EMDR toolkit
  • Patient-controlled consent
For every professional who walks alongside someone
How it works

One thread from one session to the next.

Your patient uses the Kalmo app between sessions. You use the professional portal. Nothing is shared without the patient’s explicit consent.

  1. 1

    Connect

Invite a patient with your code. They decide what to share with you — notes, episodes, history, measures — and can change it any time.

  2. 2

    Between sessions

They practise, journal hard moments and answer short check-ins in the app. You can reply to shared episodes and recommend resources.

  3. 3

    Before the session

Open an AI summary of everything shared since you last met: what happened, how they rated it, what changed. Walk in prepared.

  4. 4

    During and after

Record with consent, get a transcript, analysis, highlights and action items. Share what you choose with the patient — it stays with them all week.

The toolkit

Everything you need around the session, in one place.

Every AI output is a draft for your clinical judgement — never a diagnosis, and never shared with the patient unless you decide.

Beta

Session analysis

Every line of the transcript coded into a colour timeline you can replay with the audio.

  • Session language detected automatically (EN/ES)
  • Session structure, common factors and approach-specific techniques
  • Patient emotions, topics and change talk
  • “Moments to review” where risk language appears
  • Trends across sessions, compared with the patient’s average
Available

Pre-session patient summary

A briefing of what your patient shared since your last session, so the first ten minutes are not spent recapping.

  • Episodes, ratings and check-ins in order
  • What helped and what did not
  • Written in your language
Coming soon

Pre/post session check-ins

Short surveys before and after each session to see how your patient arrived and how they left.

  • Same questions each time, so changes are comparable
  • Plotted session by session
  • Configurable per patient
Available

Measures beyond the session

Resources to observe other states: nervous-system status checks, tracked measures like sleep and energy, and an optional camera-based wellness scan.

  • Status check (activated / shut down / settled)
  • Trend charts for every tracked measure
  • NeuroScan before/after a practice
Available

AI assistance

Summaries, highlights and action items drafted from your session, plus private feedback on your own technique — for you only.

Action items & highlights

Turn the session into concrete next steps the patient keeps on their phone, instead of forgetting them at the door.

EMDR

Made with EMDR in mind.

An EMDR session has more structure than most: phases, bilateral stimulation sets, target memories, and the SUD and VOC ratings that tell you whether processing is moving. We are building Kalmo’s EMDR toolkit together with practising EMDR therapists so it fits how a session actually runs.

In active development · see the roadmap
01

EMDR session type

Mark a session as EMDR and the portal adapts: the right tools on the session page and the EMDR approach pre-selected for analysis.

02

SUD & VOC score card

Log SUD (0–10) and VOC (1–7) during or after the session. While recording, each entry is time-stamped automatically so it lines up with the timeline.

03

Phase-aware analysis

Analysis that understands the eight phases: resourcing, target assessment, BLS check-ins, cognitive interweaves, installation, body scan and closure.

04

SUD/VOC over time

See SUD and VOC across the session and, over several sessions, the trend at the end of each one — progress you can show, not just feel.

05

Stabilisation between sessions

Patients keep their calm-place and container exercises in the app, practise them during the week, and journal what comes up after processing.

06

Data that stays clinical

Ratings are stored as numbers; anything quoting the patient is protected like the rest of their clinical record and never shared automatically.

Not an EMDR therapist?

Everything else in Kalmo works with any approach, and session analysis already ships with packs for:

  • CBT
  • ACT
  • DBT
  • Psychodynamic
  • Systemic
  • Humanistic

Why professionals use Kalmo

More reach for every session you give.

The session is fifty minutes. The rest of the week is where change has to hold. Kalmo helps you be present in it — without being on call.

Your session reaches further

What you work on together keeps going after the patient leaves: resources, reminders of what matters and a place to capture what comes up.

Nothing stays in the room

Set action items and highlights after the session, so the patient remembers what you agreed — and you can see whether it happened.

See the week, not just the hour

If your patient uses the app, you see what they choose to share between sessions: episodes, ratings, check-ins and trends.

Feedback on your own work

Private AI feedback on each session and an objective view of how time was spent — the kind of supervision signal that is usually hard to get.

Practise like a scientist

Session history, outcome measures and analysis trends let you check, with data, whether you are actually helping — and adjust when you are not.

Less admin, more therapy

Transcripts, summaries and drafts of your notes are ready when the session ends. You review; you do not start from a blank page.

Privacy & security

Clinical data treated as clinical data.

Mental-health information is among the most sensitive data there is. Kalmo is designed so the patient stays in control and you only ever see what they choose to share.

Consent first, every time
Recording and AI analysis each need the patient’s explicit opt-in. Withdrawing consent deletes the analysis.
Private by default
Nothing you write is shared with the patient unless you mark it, message by message. Analyses are visible to you only.
Access is always revocable
Patients can disconnect you at any moment, and your access to their record ends immediately.
No ads, no data sales
Patient data is never sold or used for advertising. When AI processes private content, the content itself is not kept in our AI logs.
Always improving

We ship every week — and you can see what is next.

Our public roadmap shows what is done, what we are building now and what is planned, with dates. Propose what you need; many features started as a therapist’s request.

Questions

Questions from professionals

Do I need to practise EMDR to use Kalmo?

No. The EMDR toolkit is one part of Kalmo. Session summaries, action items, between-session follow-up and session analysis work with any approach, including CBT, ACT, DBT, psychodynamic, systemic and humanistic work, as well as coaching and mentoring.

Can coaches and mentors use Kalmo?

Yes. Any professional who accompanies someone over time can use Kalmo to stay connected between sessions. Clinical features like risk markers are designed for licensed professionals, and you should always work within your own scope of practice.

What can I see about my patients?

Only what each patient explicitly shares with you — specific notes, episodes, history or measures. Patients can revoke access at any moment, and access ends immediately.

Is the session recording and analysis consented?

Yes. Recording requires the patient’s explicit consent, and AI analysis is a separate opt-in that is off by default. If the patient withdraws consent, the analysis is deleted.

Does the AI diagnose or make clinical decisions?

No. All AI output is an estimate to support your clinical judgement, clearly labelled as such. It is never a diagnosis and never reaches the patient unless you decide to share it.

How much does it cost?

Read-only access is free forever. AI features cost $5 USD per patient per month, and you choose which patients to enable. Everything is free while we test.
