About us

Therapy happens in an hour. Life happens in the other 167.

Kalmo exists to connect the two: a practice people can carry with them, and tools that let the professionals who support them stay present between sessions — without ever taking control away from the person.

Our story

Built side by side, not one after the other.

Kalmo started from a simple observation in the consulting room: a lot of the work of therapy depends on what happens between sessions, and almost none of it is visible. Patients forget what helped on a hard Tuesday; therapists start each session reconstructing the week from memory.

So a psychologist and a software engineer decided to build the missing piece together. Every resource in the app has a clinical reason to be there, and every clinical idea had to survive being built into something people would actually use on a bad day.

Today Kalmo is a self-regulation companion anyone can use on their own, and a toolkit for therapists, coaches and mentors — with special attention to EMDR — that turns every session into something that lasts all week.

What we believe

The principles we build by.

Your data is yours

Private by default, shared note by note, revocable at any moment. No feed, no ads, nothing sold.

Clinically grounded

Every resource, question and measure comes from practice with real people, not from a product idea.

Honest about AI

AI drafts, summarises and suggests. It never diagnoses, and a person always decides what happens next.

Alongside, never instead

Kalmo supports professional care. It does not replace it, and it is not an emergency service.

Built in the open

Our roadmap is public, with dates. Anyone can propose what we build next.

In your language

Everything in Kalmo is available in Spanish and English from day one.

The team

A therapist and an engineer, building one thing together.

Kalmo exists because clinical practice and software were designed side by side rather than one after the other.
